At Walkers Transport, we believe in the power of community and giving back. Last Saturday, our employees came together for our annual PARTY IN THE YARD (PITY) event, all in support of a cause close to our hearts: The Robin Cancer Trust.
With everyone’s collective efforts, we’re proud to announce that we raised an incredible £4,000 to help this life-saving charity in its mission to raise awareness about cancer.
Our annual PITY event is a special occasion to celebrate the dedication and hard work of our employees. We also invite their partners, acknowledging the crucial support they provide to our team members. It’s a unique opportunity to express our heartfelt thanks to both our employees and their families.
PITY was not just about fundraising—it was a celebration of our team’s unity, with music, food, and a great atmosphere. Employees from every department took part, and the energy was truly inspiring. It’s amazing to see what we can achieve when we come together for a shared cause. From raffles to games, every penny raised will go toward supporting The Robin Cancer Trust in their work to educate and provide resources about germ cell cancers, which predominantly affect young adults.
Our Commitment to The Robin Cancer Trust
The Robin Cancer Trust is a cause that deeply resonates with us at Walkers Transport. As a charity dedicated to fighting rare forms of cancer, they provide critical awareness and support to those affected. Supporting them is part of our wider commitment to making a positive impact beyond our business, and we’re proud to stand with them in their mission.
But our support doesn’t end with this event. As part of our ongoing commitment, we’re excited to announce the upcoming launch of our specially designed Walkers Transport charity truck curtains. These branded curtains will feature The Robin Cancer Trust’s logo and key messaging, traveling across the UK to spread awareness even further. Keep an eye out for the launch later this September!
Looking Ahead
The launch of the charity curtains is an extension of our efforts to ensure that cancer awareness reaches every corner of the country. We believe that raising awareness is as important as raising funds, and these curtains will be a moving tribute to those fighting cancer and those working to prevent it.
Rachael Franklin, HR & Marketing Director at Walkers Transport, shared her thoughts on the company’s continued partnership with The Robin Cancer Trust:
“Supporting The Robin Cancer Trust is more than just a corporate initiative for us—it’s a cause we truly believe in. We’re incredibly proud of our team for raising £4,000 at PITY, and we look forward to continuing our support with the charity truck curtains. It’s our way of ensuring that the message of awareness reaches far and wide, and we’re committed to doing our part for the community.”
As we move forward with more fundraising events and awareness campaigns, we’re thankful for the incredible support of our employees and partners.
Walkers Transport remains committed to standing with The Robin Cancer Trust and making a meaningful difference in the lives of those affected by cancer.
Stay tuned for the launch of our charity truck curtains this September, and join us as we continue to support this vital cause!
