Following impressive fuel consumption figures, Surrey-based CSL Transport has taken delivery of seven 44-tonne Range T520 6x2s – a mixture of five mid-lifts and two tags, one with a 9-tonne front axle. Packed with features including luxury leather seats, double bunk, light-bars and spotlights, the T520s have been supplied by Renault Trucks South on a 4-year, full repair and maintenance contract through BRS Ltd.
The new Range Ts join CSL’s 23-strong fleet, which has operated Renault Magnums and Range T460s successfully for several years. Working on a wide variety of applications, the new T520s will transport containers, cabins, timber and plant across the UK and Europe, as well as moving barriers for high profile London events.
Fleet Manager, Dan Broda explains why he opted for Renault Trucks: “We’ve been providing our customers with quality transport services for over 40 years, so when we were looking for new vehicles we once again turned to the trusted team at Renault Trucks. The outstanding service we have received from Renault Trucks South and BRS over the years has been a crucial factor in our vehicle selection on this occasion. Optimum fuel economy was also an important factor and we are getting around 9.1mpg, with one vehicle reaching 10mpg. This compares to 7.4-7.8mpg with previous trucks, so we are clearly delighted with these improved figures.”
Driver retention is also a key focus for CSL’s business, as Dan explains: “With a national driver shortage, we need to be able to attract and retain some of the best in the industry. We know that our drivers like the Renault trucks, especially with all the added features, and adding more Range Ts with the right spec is one of the sure-fire ways to keep our best employees motivated and on board.”
Rob Coxon, Renault Trucks South, comments on the deal: “We are committed to helping CSL succeed in getting the job done, on time and with the utmost care for their customers. It was therefore fantastic that they came back to us for their new vehicle requirements as this is testament to the performance of the trucks and the service that we deliver. I hope we will be their first port of call for any future fleet additions.”
