Somerset-based bulk haulier, W. Rolls Ltd, has selected Renault Trucks for the latest addition to its 12-strong fleet. Supplied by Renault Trucks South West, the 32-tonne Range C460 8×4 with Aliweld bulk tipping body joins eight existing Range Cs and three Premium Landers, keeping the line-up exclusively Renault Trucks.
A Renault Trucks’ customer for many years, W. Rolls Ltd Director, John Bartlett explains his loyalty to the brand: “I’ve been buying Renault trucks for a long time and I’m always recommending them to other operators who are buying new vehicles. The trucks are great, reliable and robust, plus we have a fantastic relationship with the team at Renault Trucks South West as well as great back-up service from Renault Trucks’ approved repairer A E George Commercials who are only 4 miles away in Bruton.”
Unlike many tipper operations working on more local deliveries, the W. Rolls Ltd fleet travels all over the UK delivering products with trucks covering around 120,000km per year. John Bartlett comments: “Our tippers are out Monday to Friday on long distance jobs up and down the UK. The fuel figures have been very impressive and on average we are achieving 9+mpg. Even on the more challenging roads of Devon and Cornwall we are seeing good returns which are, of course, vital to the profitability of our business.”
Driver appeal was an important consideration for W. Rolls as John explains: “Our drivers are particularly pleased with the new Range Cs. They are working on long distances so a comfortable life on board is crucial and overall they have been very happy with the bigger cab, storage spaces and interior finishes.”
Roger Millett, Renault Trucks South West comments on the deal: “I am delighted that W. Rolls has been so pleased with the overall package provided by Renault Trucks and that they have once again selected a Range C for the latest addition to their fleet. We work hard as a team to keep their operation on the move so that they can deliver with maximum efficiency to their customers. I look forward to talking with John on any future vehicle needs.”
