“It is vital that this Bill does not discourage businesses from starting up, growing and investing. Businesses must be meaningfully consulted to avoid changes that disincentivise hiring.

“We await further detail on the regulations and look forward to engaging in consultations so we can represent the views of our industry. Firms must be given the right support with any changes they need to make to their processes and practices ahead of legislation being implemented.

We note that elements of the Bill won’t be implemented until late 2026 and we will be studying the proposals in detail to understand what they mean for employers and employees.”
