Mercedes-Benz has been awarded the highest honour of Van Fleet Manufacturer of the Year at the prestigious Commercial Fleet Awards, held tonight in the Hilton Metropole, Birmingham.
In addition to this, the Sprinter was awarded both for Large Panel Van of the Year – an impressive eighth time in nine years at the Commercial Fleet Awards – and for Best Van Chassis Derivative for the second consecutive year.
The Commercial Fleet Awards were judged by a panel of industry experts, including van operators themselves, who use these vehicles in their daily work.
Stephen Briers, Editor-in-Chief, Commercial Fleet, said: “Mercedes-Benz offers a heavy truck service for vans which, when combined with its outstanding products, makes it a clear winner. There has been a step-change in its approach to fleets; it listens to their concerns and has restructured its organisation to meet their needs, especially for aftersales. It now offers an end-to-end solution for business.”
Steve Bridge, Managing Director, Mercedes-Benz Vans, added: “To be crowned Van Fleet Manufacturer of the Year feels like the absolute icing on the cake for what is set to be our most successful year ever.
“I would like to dedicate this award to the hardworking team, both at Head Office and across our nationwide Dealer Network, who have all been unrelenting in their singular focus to keep our customers’ businesses moving.
“I would also like to thank our loyal fleet customers, many of whom we have been working with across several years, if not decades. They are the lifeblood of our business and their commitment to us, willingness to try new ideas and push boundaries together, has proved to be a winning combination.”
Referring to the two product awards received, Stephen Briers added: “With the Sprinter you get what you pay for. Reliable, strong whole life costs and leading the market on new technology, the Sprinter is constantly evolving and improving. The roadside assistance service just adds to the Sprinter’s dominance in this sector.
“The Sprinter Chassis can accommodate a multitude of bodies, but has found its niche servicing the growing home delivery sector. Fleets benefit from a strong converter scheme, a wide payload range and gross weight up to five tonnes. It’s reliable and versatile, while Mercedes-Benz is committed to partnership and collaboration.”
