Runcorn-based logistics specialist H. Freund has taken delivery of four new Volvo FH 6×2 Lite tractor units with flagship Globetrotter XL cabs, after its drivers praised the trucks’ superior quality and reliability.

Supplied by Mark Lingard, Customer Solutions Manager at Thomas Hardie Commercials in Middlewich, the new additions replace models from a rival marque and have been built on a 4,000 mm wheelbase with a fixed pusher axle and rear air-suspension. Power comes from Volvo’s proven D13K Euro-6, Step D, diesel engine producing up to 540 hp between 1,400 and 1,800 rev/min, plus a peak torque of 2,600 Nm between 1,000 and 1,450 rev/min.

The 44-tonne tractor units, finished in dark green, will be used to transport bulk plastics and industrial minerals across the UK, five days a week, and are expected to cover up to 130,000 km annually.
