From Sunday 11th December, a new timetable comes into effect across the Chiltern Railways network.

As rail passenger numbers continue to recover post-pandemic, Chiltern Railways has been continuously monitoring passenger levels and taking customer feedback on busy services into consideration.

Owing to that, the new December timetable will add over 1000 seats to the busiest services – particularly on commuter services into and late-night departures from London Marylebone.

As Chiltern uses all of its available rolling stock, some lesser-used services have been shortened to reflect demand, while still ensuring that all customers have a comfortable journey. These data-driven changes will serve to improve customer experience across the network as the rail recovery continues.

Chiltern Railways will continue to monitor crowding levels and are committed to making further demand-based changes to the timetable to help alleviate pressure on busier services.

There are also some further amendments to calling patterns and service times. To view all changes made in the December timetable, customers can visit the Chiltern Railways timetable page.
