Transport UK London Bus (formerly Abellio) mobilises route E6 with state-of-the-art Wrightbus GB Kite Electroliner BEV buses.

Transport UK London Bus (formerly Abellio) has successfully mobilised the contract for route E6 and now operates this route on behalf of Transport for London. Transport UK London Bus now operates over 60 routes, serving customers across London; it has been the fastest-growing operator in London for the last three years.

The E6 operates from Transport UK London Bus’s purpose-built Hayes depot, which opened for operation in 2022. The E6 runs from Greenford Broadway to Bulls Bridge Tesco via Hayes and Harlington station

Transport UK London Bus is delighted to continue its sector-leading approach to zero-emission journeys by mobilising this route with new-look single-deck Wrightbus GB Kite Electroliner BEV vehicles. The 2024 Kites have several safety features in line with TfL’s latest bust safety standards, including front and nearside blind spot warnings, a tyre pressure monitoring system, an automated emergency braking system, and a dynamic stability test.

Each bus is designed with customer comfort in mind. High-back seats throughout make longer journeys more comfortable. High-resolution digital signage on board shares a range of real-time information with customers. The Wrightbus Kite Electroliner BEV vehicles join a growing fleet of fully electric and hybrid vehicles.

As a leader in EV technology, Transport UK London Bus is committed to TfL’s Bus Action Plan and providing customers with cleaner, safer, and more comfortable journeys. Since launching the first fully EV route in 2020, Transport UK London Bus now operates over 200 fully EV vehicles and delivers over 8 million zero-emission miles annually.

Alastair Willis, Commercial Director, Transport UK London Bus, said:

“We are delighted to mobilise the new contract on route E6 on behalf of Transport for London and operate these state-of-the-art EV buses from our Hayes depot. It is a pleasure to serve our customers with more zero-emission journeys.”
